The ultra matt black acrylic paint is suitable for lighter outdoor use, that means occasional dew. It lasts on all varnish substrates and can be applied with a brush or spray. The paint lasts on rough and smooth surfaces, such as aluminum or carbon. You can also paint over existing blackened surfaces. Please make sure, however, that the original paint adheres well. With rough surfaces the consumption is somewhat higher, but the surface appears even darker.
The 150 ml container is completely sufficient to paint a telescope (up to 12" F5) large for amateurs from the inside. The processing is very simple. We recommend a dilution in the ratio 1:1 with water. The surface remains just as matt black as with undiluted paint.
Application Tips for TS-Optics Antireflective Color:
- It is best to apply the paint with a brush or with a spray gun (for larger areas). A roll consumes too much paint.
- For ready painted Newtonians (like Skywatcher or GSO) we recommend to roughen the varnish with some emery paper, this improves the adhesion.
- The darkening effect lies between the conventional school board varnish and the velour foil.
- The colour is also suitable for the back of secondary mirrors or for secondary mirror spiders and mirror holders.
- The color plays out the main advantage with oblique incidence of light. The colour absorbs the light almost completely even at a flat angle. The result will be a deep black tube with no reflexes.
- The consistency and thinnability of anti-reflective paint is comparable to that of wall paint.

- TSBlack consists of a special acrylic copolymer which can absorb more pigments than other acrylic paints.
- Binders offer better adhesion to surfaces.
- TSBlack is completely vegan and contains no animal ingredients.
- TSBlack is non-toxic and can also be used indoors.
- TSBlack can be diluted with up to 40 % water. 100 ml TSBlack will result in 140 ml ready-to-use solution. Especially when the paint is sprayed, we recommend thinning.
- TSBlack is not suitable for parts that can heat up to more than 100 °C.
- TSBlack is non-toxic, but we don´t recommend it as a body color. If some color should come on the skin, simply wash it off.
